– BABY SESSION EXPERIENCE –

Your baby’s first year is so exciting!  They will change so much during their first 12 months both physically and developmentally.  It’s a year of discovery and firsts!  As a Central & Northern Virginia baby photographer, I love capturing these milestones in your baby’s life.  From the moment you book your session, I will be here to guide you every step of the way.  Before your session we will find some time to chat and plan.  This pre-session consultation can take place by phone, email, or in person.  This is a perfect time for us to connect and get to know each other.  We can learn about each other’s style and really get a feel for how you want to use your images in your home.

Baby sessions can be held on location or in my home studio.  Depending on the weather, I love to photograph babies outside to give a variety to the background.  Being outside can also be a lot of fun for your baby with lots of sounds and colors to look at.

Babies at 6 months can sometimes sit on their own, and have the sweetest expressions.  They’re full of smiles and little giggles.  I always like to bring along a few little toys to get their attention, but you are also welcome to bring along a favorite stuffed animal or toy as well.

Your baby’s first birthday is so exciting!  The year has flown by and they have changed so much since their newborn session.  The first half of the session we’ll spend capturing your little one’s smile and personality.  We’ll play, sing songs, and act silly!!  During the second half of the session you may choose to do a cake smash.  Cake smashes are such a fun way to capture your little one celebrating and enjoying their first cake.  That way, if you DO have a birthday party for them later, you can sit back and just enjoy their expressions knowing we already captured the first taste.

Once your session is over, I will begin selecting the very best images.  I absolutely LOVE this part.  Over the next 1-2 weeks I will spend time carefully editing each image.  Once I have finished editing your pictures, I will put them into a unique slideshow for you to enjoy on your Reveal Session.  This is such an awesome way to view your images for the very first time.  Following the slideshow, I will be here to help you with all of your ordering.  We’ll select which images to order, figure out what sizes work best, talk about wall art such as canvases and framed pieces, and even custom albums.  I will be completely at your service!
