– NEWBORN SESSION EXPERIENCE –

I look forward to every newborn session so much!  The sweetness of a precious baby and all the love that fills up a room when they’re present is so contagious!  Newborns are best photographed when they are between 5 and 14 days old.  This will allow us to mold your little one into those “womb like” positions they’re used to.  I recommend scheduling your session during your second trimester.

From the moment you book your session, I will be here to guide you every step of the way.  Before your session we will find some time to chat and plan.  This pre-session consultation can take place by phone, email, or in person.  This is a perfect time for us to connect and get to know each other.  We can learn about each other’s style and really get a feel for how you want to use your images in your home.

Newborn sessions are held on weekend mornings in my home studio.  Sessions usually last 3-4 hours to enable your baby time to feed and fall into a peaceful sleep. This may sound like a long time, but taking extra steps to make your baby happy will help us to capture beautiful heirloom quality images.

We’ll begin our session by taking some image of you with your baby.  There is nothing more precious than your first family portrait so this is one of my favorite parts of our session.  We’ll take photos of you both with your new baby as well as individual shots with mom and baby and dad and baby.  This is also a perfect time to catch some pictures of siblings with their new little brother or sister.

We will then move onto my newborn bean bag where I will pose him/her in a variety of cuddly poses.  I will photograph them sleeping peacefully and snap a few detailed shots of their sweet little fingers, toes and other adorable features.  We’ll also reserve a little of our time together to pose your little one in a prop or two.

Once your session is over, I will begin selecting the best images from our session.  I absolutely LOVE this part.  Over the next 1-2 weeks I will spend time carefully editing each image.  Once I have finished editing your pictures, I will put them into a unique slideshow for you to enjoy at your Reveal session.  This is such an awesome way to view your images for the very first time.  Following the slideshow, I will be here to help you with all of your ordering.  We’ll select which images to order, figure out what sizes work best, talk about wall art such as canvases and framed pieces, and even custom albums and beautiful image boxes.  I will be completely at your service!
